I’m Jamie, the photographer and filmmaker behind Alpine Action. I’ve been based in Les Menuires and the Three Valleys for four years, getting to know the slopes, the changing light and the mountain backdrops that make a photograph.
My sessions bring that local knowledge together with a relaxed approach. Whether you’re finding your feet on skis or happiest in the park, I want your photographs or holiday film to feel like you.

A few things
you might wonder.
Do we need to be good skiers?
Not at all. Beginners are welcome, and relaxed portraits can be part of any session. We’ll discuss everyone’s ability beforehand and photograph or film you on terrain you already feel comfortable skiing or riding. Sessions don’t include ski or snowboard lessons.
Where will we meet, and can we fit around lessons?
We’ll arrange all the practical details together over WhatsApp. Tell me where you’re staying, any ski lesson times and your group’s plans. We’ll agree a convenient meeting place and discuss a session time that fits your holiday, subject to availability. You can also ask what to bring and share the photographs or film you have in mind.
How much does a session cost?
Every session is personally quoted. Photography and holiday films are separate packages. Your quote depends on the time we spend together, your location and what you’d like photographed or filmed. Send me your plans on WhatsApp for availability and a quote.
How many photographs will we receive?
I’ll aim to capture as many beautiful photographs as possible during our time together, with a mix of action, portraits and the moments in between. You’ll receive all the successful images, individually edited. There’s no fixed image count: the final number depends on your session length, the conditions and the moments we capture.
When will our photographs be ready?
Your edited photographs will be delivered within 2–3 days of your session.
Can we have photographs and a film in one session?
Photography and filming are booked as separate sessions, so each has my full attention. Photography sessions last two hours, four hours or a full day. Film sessions start at five hours and can cover a full day or longer, with your finished film delivered within 5 days of the final filming session.
Can we book off-piste or park sessions?
Yes. Park photography or filming can be arranged around your riding and the shots you have in mind. I’m also happy to share my favourite pistes and local tips, including spots with beautiful light and mountain views for your photographs. For off-piste sessions, you must arrange your own qualified guide to lead your group. Alpine Action provides photography and filmmaking; sessions do not include mountain guiding or instruction.
What if the weather changes?
Mountain conditions are part of the conversation when we plan your session. If conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll discuss the options before going ahead. Please ask about weather arrangements when enquiring.
